The new logo for the STC shows the letter ‘M’ to represent Mexico as well as ‘metro’. The color choice of orange is consistent with the original logo, as orange is an easy color to spot when looking for the subway.
Mexico City is home to the second largest Metro System in North America, STC (Sistema de Transporte Colectivo). With over 4 million daily riders, 195 stations, 12 lines, and an outdated official map, it can be confusing to use the transportation if you are not used to it. My goal for this redesign was to make the map more approachable with friendlier colors, curved lines, and easier labeled stations.
